No co-channel interference
Seamless mobility with no roaming latency
Robust client connections that simply do not drop
No edge-users or client bunching
No mixed-mode b/g performance issues
How is all of this accomplished? By using a unique brand of Channel Blanket technology, along with an equally unique
Multiple Channel Blankets and Multiple Radios
On Belden's multiple Channel Blankets each thin Access Point (AP) operates on the same channel -- with the Switch in control of all packet routing decisions.
This means that:
There's no contention between the APs (therefore no co-channel interference or client bunching at a particular AP) Any number of radio-like APs can be used to provide any degree of bandwidth desired a/b/g users can be segregated so 'b' voice clients will no longer degrade the throughput of faster 'g' clients By using overlapping blankets on independent channels, it is possible to multiply the capacity at any physical location - by as much as 300% -- by using all three channels on separate but overlapping blankets. Belden also employs patented Spectrum Re-Use technology that allows the multiple, simultaneous use of the same channel at the same time. This increases capacity without causing interference! And, a separate blanket can be assigned for Rogue Access Point Detection.
Because of the simplicity of the system, only two basic pieces of hardware are needed: the centralized Switch and the Access Points. If, however, an AP is more than 100 meters from the WLAN Switch, Belden offers a Power over Ethernet Range Extender that can double the distance range, up to 200 meters.
Overview To ensure that the Belden Wireless Solution meets the end-users' needs on an ongoing basis, and to help them protect their WLAN investment, Belden offers a comprehensive support program consisting of two levels of service/support: our Standard Warranty agreement and our ActiveTAC™ Extended Service Program.
